Michela Del Forno
“To me the event is like a set, a vital playground where magic and beauty happen and I am there to capture it”. Michela records what unfolds before her concentrating on the moment fusing documentary photography with a distinctive cinematic style. In her work she is always seeking out experiences that create inspiration, exploration, that give rise to the creative process and result in more iconic, evocative images. Her images are a celebration of life, permeated with movement, emotion, rhythm. At the same time there are moments that reveal in their stillness and silence a whole world. “I’ve always felt that photography provides an opportunity to communicate and to convey my way of seeing beauty, it is to me a moment of connection where I embrace the story that is taking place and express it through images”. Michela has excellent skills in interacting and connecting with people and directing them in order to make them feel at ease and bring out the best of them. Her love for photography started at the age of 23 as a university student in Venice. After graduating with a bachelors degree in foreign languages and literature she specialized in event design and management working in Toronto (Canada), London (UK) and Italy. It was then while working as event organizer that she realized she just wanted to do it: she felt like she should be a photographer. “Once you start seeing the world in pictures, you frame things with your eyes with a higher consciousness of your surroundings”. Having organized and been at a lot of weddings and events, I know what might be happening next. So when the time comes, I know that you need to be in just the right spot”. In 2005 she started cooperating as associate photographer at Carlo Carletti's studio although it wasn't until 2008 when she decided to move to Tuscany and pursue her passion for photography as her career. Since then she has been shooting events ranging from intimate to large scale and VIP ones all over Italy and abroad.
